After a great congress (according to speakers and participants) in 2008 Hamburg, Linux-Kongress, the international Linux developer conference, is 2009 making it's trip up the Elbe river. It will take place from October 27 through October 30, 2009 in the beautiful historical city of Dresden. This years conference is organized again by the German Unix User Group (GUUG).
Linux-Kongress is by far one of the most traditional Linux conferences with a focus on cutting edge development. In 2009 GUUG will organize the 16th edition of this event, first startet 1994 in Heidelberg. Linux-Kongress made its trip through a variety of German cities, Netherlands and in the United Kingdom (LinuxConf Europe). Since its start 15 years ago Linux-Kongress has been evolved into the most important meeting for Linux experts and developers in Europe.
The conference language is English. The conference is divided into a tutorial program and technical sessions, both lasting two days. Simultaneously the 3rd OpenSolaris Developer Conference (OSDevCon) is taking place. Depended on the overlap of the topics of the submissions, there'll be one common session.
The conference takes place in the Dorint Hotel, Dresden, (Grunaer Street) a few blocks distance from the historical center.
Linux-Kongress is an ideal forum for vendors targeting the Linux market or to get in touch with highly qualified Linux experts and Open Source professionals. GUUG is seeking for sponsors. Options and details are available at our sponsoring page.
